Treading off the well-beaten path of the Country Music Highway, Eastern Kentucky’s Lumiis are making their way to the masses via the August release of their debut album, “We Need Machines”. Recorded live and off the floor at the historic Capitol Records Building in Hollywood, California; “We Need Machines”, is mixed and produced by music maestro Alan Brey, respectively.

The brainchild of brothers (vocalist & guitarist) Billy and (bassist) Noah Newsome; Lumiis, a nod to the B movies of the seventies, would face the usual tragedies, challenges, and triumphs that are associated in every band’s career. A long road of creative differences and line-up reiterations would eventually lead the brothers Newsome to a second chance encounter with percussionist Josh Daniels. The trio’s talents and shared passion for creative expression through music would propel the band to new heights.

Hard work and perseverance would inevitably payoff. Leading them from the hills of Kentucky to the high rolling hills of California on a cross-country road trip to Los Angeles. From July 26th to August 2nd, 2010 dreams were realized in the depths of the hallowed walls of Studio B at Capitol Studios. Following in the footsteps of the greats before them, they recorded their tracks live off the floor, proving to be a cohesive element and accomplishing their collective effort. Backed by BFC Productions their debut album, “We Need Machines”, features instant favorites “I Am Awake”, “VFTS”, and “Ruth Ellis”. Lumiis’ music is genre defying rock with progressive tendencies, innovative song structures, experimentation and captivating, airy vocals; backed by creamy bass and attentive drums. They have paid their dues, played the hometown gigs, the seedy bars, across the United States, and across the globe in Japan.

The year of Lumiis is at hand, and they will now take center stage.They are not the typical "band wagon" hopping attention seekers. Their only goal is to make a sound as big as the world.
